Casuarius
The Southern Cassowary, Casuarius casuarius, lives in New guinea and northeaster Australia, and females are larger and more colorful than males. Among living birds, Cassowaries are second in weight only to the ostrich. Cassowaries are strong secretive forest birds with a fearsome deadly claw, and may attack human if suspect they have food they can eat, or when their chicks are in danger.
Of the three cassowary species, this is the commonest in zoos. All three species are endangered.
